Philosophizing about DWH
The definition of Data Warehouse is not only what would translate the word into Castilian (data warehouse), but the definition should be organized data warehouse, so that its four main features are: it is integrated, thematic, historical and non-volatile . The most important thing for a DWH work in any business, is that this is organized in such a way that facilitates access to data for strategic consultations that the company may arise.
Since companies have begun to ask what are the customers that bring real value and types to be able to meet marketing on these efficiently, it makes sense to talk about Data Warehouse. Both large and small companies that are becoming increasingly large, need at some point in their lives to organize the information they have been stored since their volume of customers could not be organized in some paper files, in order to be competitive to a growing market.
Also going beyond having a data warehouse tools to attack organized and efficiently, you can go one step further and use datamining tools to anticipate key events for the company, is based on a history that we have collected, cleaned and organized and, applying mathematical algorithms to predict customer behavior and potential marketing campaigns with a fairly high probability that they work. With all this introduction, I hope to have encouraged some to read this interesting site that our friend Carlos is working to continue work in this world.
First we wanted to know who we were and where we came from, then wanted to know what was happening in the rest of the world at the same time, but we're already looking forward to guess what will happen in the future ... much remains to be answered.
